COM-CIRCLE CBC – Cross-Border Cooperation & Development of a Competence/Reference Centre for Circular Bioeconomy

The COM-CIRCLE CBC project will generate measurable results that contribute to the transition towards a circular and resource-efficient bioeconomy in the Greece–Bulgaria cross-border region. The key results of the project are:

1. Establishment of the Competence/Reference Centre for Circular Bioeconomy, providing state-of-the-art infrastructure for biomass valorisation and industrial symbiosis.
2. Strengthened institutional collaboration through the Antenna Office in Komotini, ensuring effective knowledge transfer and stakeholder engagement.
3. Deployment of the digital platform marketplace, facilitating industrial symbiosis, resource-sharing, and commercialisation pathways.
4. Elaboration of studies identifying biological resources, mapping value chains, and developing commercialisation protocols to minimise waste and enhance circular economy adoption.
5. Organisation of training programmes, study visits, and roundtable discussions equipping SMEs, researchers, and policymakers with circular bioeconomy expertise.

The project will benefit:
